Our Commitment to Health & Safety

Safely enjoy Panorama this summer. Opening Saturday June 27!

Panorama Mountain Resort is committed to a health and safety program that eliminates or controls situations that could cause injury to our staff, the public, or damage to our property from accidents.

Every member of Panorama’s team is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.

We will ensure this happens by each accepting responsibility for our actions, as they relate to our own safety and that of those working around us.

To keep everyone healthy and safe, please do not visit Panorama Mountain Resort if any of the following apply to you
  • If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 which primarily displays as a persistent cough
  • If you do not feel well, stay home, and, when in doubt, call 8-1-1 or get tested.
  • If you have traveled outside of Canada, please do not come until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days.
  • If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID-19
  • If you have underlying medical conditions, it is recommended that you do not visit Panorama Mountain Resort at this time.

Please respect physical distancing measures and obey all posted signage while at the resort. Anyone who does not comply with these policies and protocols will be asked to leave the premises and could be suspended from future visits.

As a valued guest at Panorama Mountain Resort, we want you to feel safe, comfortable, and confident during your experience with us, whether shopping, hiking, bouncing on the bouncing on the EuroBungy or mountain biking. Here are some control measures we have put in place to ensure your safety:

Screening and Sanitizing

  • We encourage each guest to self-assess and not to visit the Resort if feeling unwell
  • Gondola cabins and public spaces will be disinfected frequently
  • Discovery Zone equipment such as harnesses and helmets will be sanitized after each use
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed around the Resort
  • All the cleaning products used are approved by Health Canada and proven to kill viruses such as COVID-19.
  • Use of electrostatic technology for disinfecting rooms
  • Units will remain vacant between guests for 24 - 72 hours

Physical Distancing

  • We will ensure that where possible throughout your experience, you have the opportunity to have at least 6 feet of space between you and any other guest; if you find yourself in close quarters and physical distancing is challenging we recommend you wear a mask.
  • Chairlift and Gondola capacity will only be met with guests who share a social circle or family unit
  • We have reduced seating in restaurants and common areas
  • We have installed plexiglass barriers at our Guest Services desks, Central Check In, General Store & Toques and Tracks, ALTO, Pools Facility and Mountain Outfitters
  • Physical distancing reminder signage has been placed around the resort
  • Markers have been placed in many queue formation locations
  • Pools facilities, when open, will have reduced bather loads and capacity to allow for physical distancing

Eliminating Touch Points

  • Whenever possible, doors will be propped open
  • We strongly encourage contact-less payment methods
  • Tickets for all activities are available for pre-purchase online or through our reservations call center: 1.800.663.2929
  • RFID ticketing system means touchless ticket validation
  • In unit maintenance and housekeeping for occupied units will not be available until further notice

Our employees are the backbone of our company and we are committed to keeping each of our team members safe. Here are the measures we have put in place to ensure they are acting safe at the workplace and going home healthy at the end of every day.

Sanitation & Personal Protective Equipment

  • Hand sanitizer is widely available for each staff member
  • Staff are trained in frequent and thorough hand washing
  • Staff are given protective equipment including a mask, gloves and a shield
  • Requirements to wear such equipment will vary based on job role

Training & Illness Policy

  • A new staff training program has been developed which covers proper personal hygiene protocol, covid-19 disease transmission methods, signs and symptoms and proper cleaning protocol
  • Our staff illness policy has been adjusted to support our staff member who may be feeling sick

Operational Changes

  • New operating procedures have been put in place to protect staff members
  • We will operate with staggered start and break times
  • Meetings and communication will be conducted virtually whenever possible
  • Training will be conducted online and in small groups
  • We have made changes to our time clock procedures to eliminate touch points for staff

ACTIVITIES

To ensure the wellbeing of our guests, staff and community we request that you follow all hand hygiene, physical distancing and sanitation measures as directed by signage and our team. 

  • Hand sanitizer stations have been set up and all guests are required to sanitize upon entering the Discovery Zone and before each attraction.
  • There will be a limit of 16 people in the Discovery Zone at any time. Physical distancing markers will designate where to stand and also while waiting to enter the area. We are kindly asking observers to remain outside of the area.
  • Climbing wall participants will be required to wear a mask, buff or appropriate face covering, and have the option of wearing gloves. Please bring your own face covering and gloves as they will not be supplied.
  • EuroBungy and climbing harnesses will be sprayed down after every participant, and washed every evening.
  • Only 2 EuroBungy trampolines will be in operation, and participants will be instructed not to touch the harnesses.
  • EuroBungy and Climbing Wall staff will be wearing face masks and changing disposable gloves after each participant.
  • Paradice Mining Co. stations will be set at 2 metres apart, and an attendant will instruct each participant when to step forward, and where they can leave their panning tray when done.  All trays will be sanitized after every participant.
  • Climbing wall holds will be sanitized every day. 
  • Mini golf clubs/ balls will be sanitized after each participant, and 2 metre physical distancing will be in effect throughout the mini golf course.

POOLS & HOT TUBS

  • All guests must register at the desk when entering the Panorama Springs Pools complex and sign out when leaving the pools.
  • Capacity within the pool area is reduced and noted on signage beside each pool or hot tub. Please abide by capacity limits for each hot tub and pool.
  • Pool toys are not permitted and will be removed by our staff.
  • Life jackets will not be provided so please bring your own or an appropriate form of wearable flotation device for your child.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are available and we ask all guests to use them when entering or exiting the area.
  • Laundering of towels will follow government and health authority guidelines and PPE will be worn by staff at all times.
  • It is recommended to bring and wear a mask in area such as the change rooms when you are unable to keep a 2 metre distance between yourself and others.
  • The waterslides, sauna and all building specific hot tubs will remain closed this summer.

Please note: during busy times we may implement a time limit in the pools to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy this amenity. 

PINE INN GYM

  • The keys for the gym will be hard keys that can be picked up at Front Desk (Central Check In). The last time slot available for any given day will be 9 PM and the keys must be returned to Front Desk by closing time of 11 PM. In exchange for a key you will need to provide either a credit card or a driver license which will be returned to you when you return the key. 
  • DO NOT enter the facility if you:
    • Have travelled out of country in the last 14 days.
    • Have a fever, cough, or any other flu like symptoms.
    • Have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Maximum capacity of two (2) in the fitness room at each time.
    • When sharing the facility with another individual, physical distancing measures are in effect. Ensure that you keep 6 feet (2 meters) from any other facility users.
    • In the cardio room, do not use a machine directly beside someone else.
  • Individuals will register with contact details to allow for contact tracing should it be required.
  • Prior to receiving a key, you must sign that you have read and understood these rules and provide a credit card or Drivers License as collateral which will be returned to you when you return the key.
  • Users must wash their hands or use the hand sanitizer provided before using the facilities
  • Equipment is to be wiped down by the user after each use with the provided disinfectant wipes. This includes:
    • Benches
    • Barbells
    • Dumbbell grips
    • Mats
    • Cable attachments
    • Exercise balls
  • The water fountain will be out of use, please ensure that you bring water with you.
  • Safety Services will make regular patrols of the fitness center to ensure rules are being followed.
    • Deviating from these guidelines will result in facility privileges being taken away.
  • The Pine Inn hot tub will remain closed.

FRONT DESK

  • Please only one person per family or group to enter Central Check-In.
  • Partitions are in place at Front Desk to separate guests from employees while checking in.
  • Staff will be wearing gloves and masks when appropriate.
  • High touch surfaces and bathrooms cleaned regularly.
  • Operating on reduced hours (7 AM – 11 PM). Guests must call in advance to arrange late check in after 11 PM or early departure prior to 11 PM.
  • Touchless check-out available.

HOUSEKEEPING

  • Lodging units will remain vacant for 24 – 72 hours between reservations.
  • Use of Clorox Professional Total 360 electrostatic sprayer to disinfect and sanitize all units.
  • No mid-stay cleans will occur during stay to ensure no staff enter a unit while occupied by guests.
  • Extra sanitation of high touch surfaces using a govt approved product in the fight against COVID-19
  • Removal of any items left behind by a guest.
  • Hourly cleaning and sanitation of public restrooms

LIFT OPERATIONS (regarding health regulations)

  • Village Gondola: 
    • The capacity of each carrier will be 1 person. There is an exception when all users are from the same social circle the capacity will be 8 people per carrier
    • Guests need to obey physical distancing signage an instructions from operator.
    • Hand and surface sanitizer is available at both stations of the gondola for guest use.
    • When rotating positions throughout the day and at the end of each shift, the departing staff member will sanitize the control buttons, phones, 2-way radio and door handles.
    • Staff will have available to them 8-millimetre nitrile gloves for the purpose of assisting guests with bikes and strollers etc.
  • Mile 1 Express Chairlift:
    • Guests need to obey physical distancing signage an instructions from operator.
    • Anyone requesting, will be permitted to ride alone.
    • When rotating positions throughout the day and at the end of each shift, the departing staff member will sanitize the control buttons, phones, 2-way radio and door handles.
    • Staff will have available to them 8 millimetre nitrile gloves, or more robust light duty gloves for the purpose of loading and unloading bikes.
    • There will be a water storage container and soap for hand washing located at the drive and return station. For staff use only. The top station should have a large cube, the bottom station can have a 20L camping jug.
    • There will be a sanitization station located at the top of the Mile One for guests to use if they wish to sanitize their bikes.
    • Staff working at the Mile One load will be required to wear a face mask when performing tasks which put them within 2 metres of a guest (ie. helping to load a bike).
  • Ticket Validation:
    • Two RFID gates will validate mountain bikers.
    • One RFID gates will validate the sightseers.
    • The RFID gate's antennae will be sanitized once per hour and at the end of each shift.
    • Lines will be painted in 2 metre increments on the Valley Trail and on the pathway leading to Toques & Tracks.
    • A booth with a screen will serve as the trouble shooting point for guests who have challenges with their tickets to speak with the validator attendant.
