80 cm in seven days with snowfall warnings in effect
PANORAMA, B.C. – February 9, 2017 – The mountains at Panorama are once again being slammed by snow just a few days after a massive storm deposited 64 centimetres in a 72-hour period.
“The huge snow banks in the Columbia Valley just grow taller as you approach the resort. From summit to village, conditions are the best we’ve seen for a very long time and we’re really excited for the skiers and riders who will spend their Family Day getaways with us,” said Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO of Panorama Mountain Resort.
This past week powder seekers hurried to the mountain in search of deep snow and they were not disappointed. Mid-afternoon Thursday their tracks are being filled in rapidly with a new storm total of 16 cm. More is expected by Friday morning.
Based at Panorama, RK Heliski has received even more snowfall with 175 cm in the storm.
Huge snowfall is just adding to what is proving to be a banner winter for Panorama. In October 2016, the resort was recognized as North American Ski Resort of the Year at the World Snow Awards presented in London, U.K. On December 30th, 2016 Panorama broke its all-time daily visitation record.
BC Family Day: Panorama’s snow dump comes in perfect time for BC Family Day on February the 13th.
