ARTIST 1 | WILD HONEY

Last year the High Notes Music Festival embarked on an ambitious idea, to perfectly pair music, food and wine together for a culinary experience that would captivate the senses. We listened to the music, used the sounds and themes to inspire the menu and had each dish paired with fine BC wine. It was the highlight of the 2017 festival and this dining experience returns March 23 with a stunning new band and delicious four course menu.

Wild Honey is about life in the mountains, embracing nature, a country way of life, and simply enjoying the beauty of it all. Jessica Neidermayer, Shelby Knudsen & Laura Cain form Kootenay trio Wild Honey. These talented women have been mesmerizing audiences with their sweet roots sound, beautiful harmonies and creative songwriting since starting the band three years ago. What started as a group of mothers looking for a creative outlet, has since then grown to be an illustrious folk band widely known in the Kootenays and beyond.

ARTIST 2 | SCENIC ROUTE TO ALASKA

Built on the simplicity of folk and pop, Edmonton-based trio are a success story for all teenage garage bands across the nation. The band, comprised of Trevor Mann on lead vocals and guitar, drummer Shea Connor, and bassist Murray Wood, first started jamming together as teenagers when they decided they would rather play music than football after school. As the band’s focus shifted from cheesy covers at wedding gigs to becoming familiar with every major venue in Edmonton, the three friends adopted the title Scenic Route to Alaska.

Since the release of the band’s fourth album, Long Walk Home, the prairie-indie trio have amassed an impressive pile of achievements and accolades at home and abroad. The band’s catchy vocals and memorable melodies led them to label signings and a growing following across Europe and Australia, as well as number #1s on CBC Radio 2 and 3, two Western Canadian Music Award nods, and multiple TV placements on major networks.
